The 2-Chained Light Duty Chain Knocker is an excellent choice for plumbing professionals who needs a descaling tool with balanced flexibility and descaling power for PVC and other soft material pipes. With the double hub design and two chains it can reach some hard-to-reach areas while still being able to descale effectively. This 2-Chained option might navigate through most bends but struggles with some tight bends.
How does it perform compared to other chain knocker options?
In comparison this 2-Chained option offers a slightly broader cleaning surface with the cost of flexibility than 1-Chained option and a bit more flexibility with slightly lesser descaling speed than the 3-Chained option.
- For maximum flexibility, with the cost of cleaning surface we recommend considering Mini Chain or the 1-Chained option.
- If you mostly have straight line with barely any bends we highly recommend considering the 3-Chained option to speed things up. We still recommend having at least one flexible option with you than the 3-Chained.
Perfect tool for PVC/ABS and other soft material pipe descaling
Like all the other Light Duty Chains, this 2-Chained option does not have any kind of hard metal (carbide) tips like Medium or Heavy Duty Chain Knockers do. This minimizes the risk of damaging the pipe’s interior, making them the ideal choice for cleaning & descaling tasks in PVC, ABS, PEX, Copper and other fragile/soft pipes.
Light Duty Chains are also a great option when a pipe made from tougher material is in considerably rough condition (cracks etc) and you don’t want to take any risks. So if you want you can also use these chains in Cast Iron pipes as well.
While we recommend this chain knocker for soft material pipes like PVC, please always check that the overall condition of the pipe to avoid any damage. If you are unsure if the pipe will withstand the Light Duty Chain Knocker, please choose even more gentle option like Circular Light Duty Chain Knocker or Gentle Duty Brush.
