• Due to their high luminosity, UV radiation emission (not UVS in HMIs), and the high lamp pressure during operation, HMI lamps may only be used in specially designed, closed housings. Appropriate filters must ensure that UV radiation from standard HMI lamps is reduced to an acceptable level. Mercury is released in the case of a lamp. Special safety regulations must be observed.
