VBCB Single counterbalance valves, also known as overcentre valves, provide an all in one solution for cylinder load holding and travel speed.
A single counterbalance valve is designed for use on double-acting cylinders and controls cylinder movement in one direction, whilst the opposite direction has free flow.
Counterbalance valves operate on a pilot ratio, a 1275psi system with a 4.25:1 ratio valve installed, requires 300psi applied to the pilot line to open the valve in the controlled direction.
Until the correct pressure is applied to the pilot line, the valve remains closed, ensuring the cylinder cannot move.
An important note here is that to be most effective and to meet Australian Standard AS1418.8 these valves should be hard plumbed to the cylinder, i.e., no rubber hose between valve and cylinder.
Fine adjustment is a feature within the valve, it allows you to control the travel speed of the cylinder in the controlled direction by simply turning the adjustment screw.
Designed for use with open centred valves.

The VBCB range is produced by Oleoweb at their production facility located in Reggio Emilia, Italy.
Oleoweb valves have been a feature in the Australian market for over 10 years, their key point of difference to many competitors is that most valves are available using steel bodies rather than aluminium. Steel bodied valves are capable of far higher working pressures and are less likely to warp or crack than an aluminium valve.
