      Piero Fornasetti (1913–1988) was an Italian designer and artist known for his creative and whimsical designs across various disciplines, including furniture, interior decor, ceramics, and graphic art.A central motif in his work was the “variations,” notably exemplified in the iconic “Tema e Variazioni” series featuring over 400 renditions of opera singer Lina Cavalieri’s face.

      His work often features surreal and imaginative themes, combining classical elements with a playful and whimsical approach. Fornasetti collaborated with other designers and brands, expanding his influence into various areas of design. One notable collaboration was with Italian architect Gio Ponti.
