AMERICAN WALNUT: The standard version of the American Walnut is processed with knots and sapwood. The core is dark brown, the sapwood is usually yellow-ish and well defined. The walnut can fade with time and becomes slightly reddish in the process. A select version without sapwood and only a few knots is available.

FOYAITE (hard stone): Janua’s natural stones are always finished with a silky matte leather surface. This is carried out in two steps: The natural stone is ground according to its hardness. Hard rocks must be ground significantly longer than soft rocks. Subsequently, the surface is worked with brushes of varying degrees of hardness. The result is a matte appearance and a high-low relief. Similar to brushed wood surfaces, the harder areas of the natural stone remain elevated while the softer veins and areas gain a depth relief. The stone does not shine ad resembles leather. this form of surface treatment is also referred to s a satin finish. Natural stone surfaces with a leather look are versatile and easier to care for than polished to smoothed stone surfaces.
