We always smile when we get one of these little guys to sell. Named after its bullet design, we see more bulldog, but either way—it’s a force to be reckoned with. And like its namesake, this 2023 1kg Aillio Bullet R1 v2 hits the roasting bullseye with every batch.

It does this, in large part, with the “version 2” addition of an infrared bean temperature sensor (IBTS), which enables direct surface temperature sensing of the bean mass without the need for protective germanium glass. This eliminates thermometric lag, ensures consistent first crack temperatures across batch sizes, and eliminates data artifacts in roast profiles. Aillio claims this IBTS is the first in the world to allow users to profile roasts using infrared data, supporting their belief that “Better data makes better coffee.”

But let’s get back to why you, like countless other roasters, need this machine. To start, it’s a great choice for smaller roasters looking for greater control and capacity. With its induction heat technology, it can roast up to 2.2 pounds per batch in about 12 minutes with precision aim. Plus, it provides enhanced control over roast parameters via touchpad controls or USB connection to a Mac or PC.

The seller purchased this one new from Sweet Maria’s in October 2023. He found it to be more capacity than he needed for his small 100-150 gram batches, so he switched to a smaller sample roaster. So, with five months’ use and no more than 50 roasts total, that works out to be a pretty sweet deal for you.

The roaster has been cleaned per the manufacturer’s directions after each roast, and there are no known issues with the roaster. Runs on 110v // single phase and includes a maintenance tool kit, cooling tray, USB connection cable, and extra USB light.
