The X-M5, marking the first introduction of an X-M camera in over a decade, is equipped with the same 26.1 MP X-Trans 4 CMOS sensor found in its popular counterpart, the X100V. This sensor is over 16 times larger than the typical smartphone sensor, which enhances its ability to capture light, resulting in more vibrant colors, increased detail, and improved performance in low-light conditions. The sensor’s architecture incorporates a randomized pixel arrangement designed to replicate the organic qualities of film, yielding subtle color variations and smooth tonal transitions while minimizing digital artifacts. Furthermore, the larger APS-C sensor facilitates a shallower depth of field, allowing for more pronounced background blur and enhanced subject isolation.

Optimized Audio, 6K Video

It is equipped with three integrated microphones and offers four distinct sound capture modes: Surround, Front Priority, Back Priority, and Front & Back Priority, allowing for tailored audio collection in various scenarios. Design and Build

The X-M5 represents the most compact and lightweight model within the X-series, weighing 12.5 ounces without a lens and measuring 4.4 inches in width. Adhering to the FUJIFILM aesthetic and the design principles of the X-series, this silver rangefinder-style camera is equipped with a series of top-mounted dials for selecting modes, film simulations, and adjusting various settings. Its interchangeable lens mount is compatible with over 35 X-series lenses, and it also allows for the attachment of other lenses using an appropriate optional adapter.

This camera is equipped with a 3-inch articulating LCD touchscreen, specifically designed for self-taping. In response to the needs of content creators, FUJIFILM has repositioned the connector ports to the right side of the camera, thereby reducing the likelihood of wires obstructing the monitor. Additionally, the microphone port has been relocated from the side to the rear of the camera to better facilitate the use of content creation accessories.
