This is a replica of a Roman Dagger which is also known as a Pugio. This particular replica has fascinating history behind it, the term Pugio derives from the Latin word Pugnus which means fist, the word itself refers to the shape of the hand in the closed position that is necessary to hold this Roman dagger.
