White Zombie La Sexorcisto: Devil Music Vol One RIAA Gold Album Award

RIAA Gold Award for White Zombie album La Sexorcisto: Devil Music Volume One. Released on Mar. 30, 1992 it was certified Gold by the RIAA on Oct. 6, 1993 for 500,000 copies sold. 

The groove metal group’s third album featured the hits “Thunder Kiss ’65” and “Black Sunshine”, which received heavy airplay on rock radio and MTV. The tracks propelled the album to #26 on the Billboard Top 200 Album chart and #46 in the UK. “Thunder Kiss ’65” also earned the group a Grammy nomination for Best Metal Performance. By 1998 the album was certified 2x Multi-Platinum by the RIAA for two million copies sold.

Detailed Item Description: This RIAA Gold award is a first presentation award that would have been manufactured in 1993 making it 32 years old. It is presented to Bruce Gillmer (misspelled as Gilmer), an executive at MTV, VH-1 and other music companies. 

The award is in Good to VG condition with minor frame wear, minor finish degradation on the gold disc around the label (see images), and a few mars on the plexiglass. It has all original internals but has been reframed with an original “R hologram” award frame and thus also rebacked.

These are historical artifacts from the year they were produced. As a result they may show signs of wear. Frankly, if you see a 20 to 50-year-old award purported to be in 100% perfect condition, it might be too good to be true. After all, an antique should have “good’ wear.
