The Goleta Traditional Gypsum Mantel Shelf with Inlay has a smooth surface and is the only paint grade option available. However, if you would rather have a mantel with a natural stone look, this mantel is also available in cast stone.

Goleta has an open back and is hollow on the inside for easy installation. To install the shelf you need to mount a 2×2 or 2×4 on the wall, this is called a cleat that allows you to easily slide the shelf over it. You may need to level the shelf by shimming it before drilling 2 holes into the cleat and secure the shelf with 2 long drywall screws. The cleat and screws are not included. We provide a patch material to fill the holes drilled.
