1950 GRUEN Veri-Thin ‘Knotted Lugs’ 14K Gold Gents Dress Watch

empressissi™ is pleased to offer this fantastic rare midsize GRUEN dress watch for men from the early 50s, a ‘Precision’ model in 14K solid gold with design often referred to among collectors as ‘knotted lugs’. These were available from several makers in small variations and very popular during the early 50s.

The watch houses an early 415 manual wind caliber with sub seconds, running on 17 jewels. It is cased in a GRUEN original 14K solid yellow gold case in knotted lugs design, ref. 718-415 and has a mint low dome crystal and good crown.

The dial is a desirable ‘pie pan’ form which was professionally restored in silver tone with applied solid gold markers. It has the original set of hands.

This collectible GRUEN watch measures 29mm side to side (excluding crown) and 37mm from top lug to bottom lug and is modest in size even for a vintage watch.

Attached to this watch is standard length, brand new quality 16mm wide genuine leather band in black tone with an anti-allergic yellow tone buckle.
