The Wedeco – 45001 UV Light Bulb For Germicidal Water Treatment is a four pin on a single end lamp bulb that has wattage of 17 watts. With ceramic as its base material and four pin on a single end base, the T5 shaped bulb has an average lifespan of 10,000 hours.

Researchers believe that the peak UV output of 254nm reacts with the genetics of the microorganisms and renders them incapable of reproducing. Since the light bulbs are intended to destroy microorganisms it is recommended that you replace them annually.

The germicidal water treatment bulb comes with a shatterproof coating that protects the lamp during damage. The coating also keeps the lamp glass from falling into the unit.
