Feature-rich, it combines cutting-edge maritime distress signaling features — 406 MHz, AIS, and VHF DSC — into a compact and durable device, offering a reliable solution for alerting and locating in distress situations.

Leveraging advanced MEOSAR technology, the sMRT SHIELD+ operates seamlessly on the specialized 406 MHz frequency. This enables swift and precise transmission of distress locations through the global COSPAS-SARSAT search and rescue satellite network. Alongside its global reach, the device capitalizes on local alerting and locating methods like VHF DSC and AIS.

Upon activation, the sMRT SHIELD+ promptly notifies nearby vessels of the MOB scenario via DSC, while concurrently updating the user’s real-time location on chart plotters every 60 seconds through AIS.

Integrating Return Link Service (RLS) and DSC acknowledgement technology, users receive visual confirmation via designated lights, ensuring the transmission and acknowledgement of their distress signals.
