Our hiking designers designed this Arpenaz 1P shelter. For 1 adult or 2 children wishing to shelter from the sun, a light wind or to isolate themselves from the ground.
Sunscreen
Our main fabric is made of 75D (Denier) Polyester fibers, coated with polyurethane to provide UPF 50+ sun protection. Please note: some UV rays pass directly or indirectly through the front of the shelter; we recommend protecting your skin.
Assembly and disassembly
Shelter with traditional hoop structure. – Read the assembly and disassembly instructions, video available on Decathlon.fr, – Remove the different elements from the cover, – On the ground, unfold the hoops as well as the textile cover, – Insert the front hoop into the textile sleeve, up to the end in the sock, put it under tension and insert it into the opposite sock, – Repeat this on the second hoop, – The shelter is self-supporting, orient it and plant the 3 pegs.
Size
When unfolded, the shelter forms a 1 m² triangle on the ground. See dimensions above.
Wind resistance
We test all our tents in a wind tunnel on a rotating platform. The goal is to expose each side of the shelter to the same wind intensity. With proper assembly, this shelter remains habitable in winds of force 4, measured at 30 km/h.
Rain protection
This shelter protects you from light rain thanks to its polyurethane-coated polyester fabric. The groundsheet protects you from moisture or runoff. Caution! The seams are not waterproof, so you won’t be protected in heavy rain.
Don’t throw away, let’s repair!
This shelter is designed to be repairable, spare parts and pole repairs are available at your Decathlon store workshop or on Decathlon.fr. Here are the spare part references: – Cuttable fiberglass rod Ø 7,9 mm in length 60 cm: 8361597, – Ferrule for pole Ø 7,9 mm: 8302916, – Elastic Ø 2,5 mm – length 6 m: 1163607, – Self-adhesive patch kit for fabric – blue: 8584596, – Adhesive fabric repair roll – blue: 8584597.
Maintenance and storage advice
Our shelters have been designed for occasional outdoor use (4 weeks per year) during your outings in the great outdoors. Continuous exposure for several weeks to UV rays can damage their textile part. These products do not fall into the “garden furniture” category and are not designed to remain outdoors permanently. To guarantee an optimal lifespan for your shelter, it is important to clean it and store it dry in its cover when not in use.
Set off to discover nature with this little shelter that protects from the sun (UPF 50+). Compact, you can take it everywhere, even in your backpack. Its hoop structure is easy to assemble.
