What does glove dexterity mean?
A glove’s dexterity refers to its ability to handle objects with ease. Our liner gloves were rated in the lab on a scale of 1 to 5. The closer the rating is to 5, the more easily objects can be handled, similar to handling them with bare hands. The ease of putting on and opening a jacket with these liner gloves was tested, among other things.
heat input
Worn under a hiking glove, this liner will provide up to 3°C of additional warmth. This corresponds to the ambient temperature at which 100% of testers found this sensation acceptable. We recommend wearing this liner glove with gloves on top for better protection.
How is the usage temperature measured?
All our gloves are tested using a thermal hand in the laboratory to determine their level of heat as well as their minimum temperatures of use. The minimum temperatures for use (recommended and limits) are taken from a study carried out on a panel of 23 testers in a walking situation exposed to temperatures ranging from 5°C to -20°C and a wind of 10 km/h . These temperatures are only valid in a running situation.
How to properly protect your hands from the cold?
By applying the principle of layering, you can optimize the insulation of your hands. Thus, by wearing under-gloves, in addition to gloves, several layers of air are created around your hands, isolating them effectively from the cold. For this, it is important to take gloves large enough to prevent your fingers from being compressed. Indeed, the compression slows blood circulation in the fingers, which does not allow them to be kept warm.
How to keep your hands warm with appropriate clothing?
The body in activity creates heat which is preserved thanks to the thermal insulation provided by your clothing. If it is unsuitable, your body becomes cold and the blood circulation of your extremities (including your hands) is reduced so as to keep your bust warm. Your clothing can therefore play a role in optimizing the warmth of your hands.
Origin of wool
We use wool from Merino sheep raised on mulesing-free farms in South Africa. We have partnered with a breeders’ group (Konsortium Merino) to ensure respect for animal welfare and the environment. This ensures complete traceability, allowing us to guarantee the origin of our wool. More information:
How do I care for my merino wool liners?
We recommend washing your merino wool undergloves in the washing machine at 30°C, on a normal cycle, preferably using liquid detergent. Dry them flat in a dry place but avoid placing them on a heat source. This can damage the fiber and cause them to lose their shape. Never put them in the dryer. For more information:
Please note!
These under-gloves do not protect against the spread of viruses or germs.
This tactile under-glove offers you up to 3°C of additional warmth thanks to 86% merino wool fibres. Their diameter of 18,5 microns limits irritation.
